We made this Barefoot Contessa recipe for our Strawberry Challenge. The cake part of it is the best cake I've ever tasted in conjuction with strawberries. The sour cream, lemon and orange zest, and cornstarch really give it something EXTRA. Plus, the recipe makes 2 9-inch round cakes, and you only use one per dessert, so you can save the other for another dessert night.
We thought that the recipe could use a few more strawberries, and more whipped cream. Logan made the cake, took the pictures, and decorated the cake with zest for the photo.
